Design Break 4 - Almost Finished

So, I think I have finally settled on the final layout of the quilt.  Taking a picture of the blocks on the design wall really helps me "see" the quilt and make any adjustments necessary.  I also do this when I am designing my own quilts.  It gives me different perspective, and can look totally different that what I thought looking at it in person. Can you see the subtle adjustments I made between these two pictures?  Can you see the differences since my last blog post on the subject?

Many of you may be thinking "well this is only a one block wonder quilt. they are easy to make, just piece together octagons and setting triangles."
Yes, the cutting and sewing may be easy.  But this actually helps my mind relax.  I don't have to worry about the blocks I am creating as well as color and placement.  With these quilts, I only need to worry about how I will place the colors.  I let the colors determine the pattern.
When all is done, I have a new perspective on color and placement.  I might be more willing to use that color or "ugly" fabric in quilt or block because I now know it can work.
I will post the final picture of this quilt when it has been quilted and bound.

I like it!! I have my fabric and I have read the book but I haven't gotten up the nerve to cut into the fabric! To me it's not an easy pattern! :)

Well, you just need to take that leap and get started. What fabric do you have?
