Meet July Sparkler

Its time for another peek inside Stars N Strips Forever.  This was my inspiration quilt, the first quilt that I designed for the book. Its a great wall hanging in Patriotic Colors. The quilting was done by Janiece Cline and I bejeweled the quilt with about 3,000 crystals. I think you really need to see this one in person to really appreciate it.

Free Spirit, Parson Gray and me

It is always great to come home to find a package sitting at my stoop.  Today's surprise was from Free Spirit Fabrics and contained some Parson Gray Seven Wonders Design Rolls and Designer Basics in Black. You may be wondering, what is he going to do with all that fabric.  Unfortunately I won't be able to show you now, but make sure to check out the Nov/Dec issue of Quilty Magazine for the quilt and pattern. In the meantime, I will just tease you with some pictures.

Stars n Strips Sneak Peek

Only days away from the release of my new book, so I though it was time for a second look into the book.  Today I am sharing 'Christmas Jewel'.  For this quilt I combined dupioni silk, cotton sateen, quilting weight cotton, and oriental fabrics. Of course, there is no need to stick with my color theme, but to mix various fabrics for a shimmery effect. As with all the quilts in this book, this is a variation on my Stars N Strips Block, which you are taught to make in the book in two different sized (8" and 12" blocks).

The picture here is of the finished quilt top. The final quilt is completed with quilting of holly leaves, candles and presents.
