Beginning Paper Piecing Workshop

My workshop this past Saturday was a big success.  Several members of the Piece Corp Quilt Guild in St Joseph, MO attended and everyone had a great time.  I taught paper piecing tips and tricks while we complete a 33x33 wall quilt.  This is an easy pattern for beginners. It was great to see beginners and experienced paper piercers, there to pick up some new techniques or just have some fun.  Below is a picture of my completed project.

Contact me at if you are interesting in having this workshop for your guild or shop.

Stay tuned for pictures of more completed projects.

2011 Block of the Month Fabric Selection

I started my Block of the Month "Life in the Midwest" on my website today. Future blocks will be posted on the 15th of each month. The fabric requirements are online now.  This will make a twin size quilt, approximately 74" x 98".

For my setting blocks, the St Joe Parkway, I have decided to use a white muslin, black for the dark and a blue reproduction for the medium fabrics.

I chose a lot of scrap fabrics for the monthly blocks along with a light printed fabric for the background. I will also incorporate at least one of the fabrics from the setting blocks, etiher the blue or the black.
